With the price of health care skyrocketing, the average American is now paying an average of more than $6,000 a year for a doctor’s office visit, according to new data.
But how do you pay for that?
And how do they compare to the prices of specialty care?
Here are the top 10 doctors in the country, according the Kaiser Family Foundation, with prices ranging from about $400 to more than a million dollars.1.
Dr. William H. Smith, MD, MPH, Stanford University.
Dr. Smith has treated more than 4 million patients, including a host of celebrities and athletes.
His specialty is psychiatry.2.
Eric Zuhn and Dr. Christopher P. O’Connor, MD.
O and C have been practicing medicine in Palo Alto for over a decade, treating patients with a wide variety of conditions.3.
Dr David R. Cohen, MD and Dr Peter L. Rosen, MD of the Johns Hopkins University.
Cohen has been a practicing physician for more than 30 years, treating more than 200,000 patients.4.
Dr Jeffrey K. Levine, MD at Yale University.
This Stanford, New Haven, Connecticut, physician is the author of numerous books and articles, including “Medical Fraud and the Art of Selling Healthcare.”5.
Dr Donald D. Schulman, MD from Yale University and Dr Steven L. Meehan, MD (both from Harvard Medical School).
Meehan and Schulmans are the co-founders of the Yale Center for Biomedical Ethics.6.
